Second Semester Final Platter
My inspiration for this piece was springtime, flowers, and tea party platter vibes. I wanted to do something with underglazing flowers, and I landed on using a dotting tool to ensure that all the flowers were somewhat even. Not all the flowers are uniform, the dots vary in distance from the center and from each other, but they are all the same color and size. For the construction of the platter itself, I started with a slab and cut it into a large rectangle and smaller strips to add on as sides. Then I added handles and dotted all the flowers; I did the yellow centers all first, and then went around with blue or purple. I am very happy with how this piece turned out, there isn't anything I would point out to change. I especially like the way I twisted the handles, and the clear glaze is mistake-free. I plan on bringing in flower sugar cookies for the day of the final to keep with my springtime theme.
